Mutual support between people in similar situations has many benefits for those who benefit from it. It helps improve quality of life while breaking down isolation. Surrounding yourself with people who understand your reality helps you develop the personal resources you need to cope better with everyday challenges, by receiving advice and peer support.

You may find comfort in sharing your experiences with others who are also living with breast cancer. Our private discussion groups are friendly, respectful spaces where you can talk about breast cancer with people who are going through a similar experience to yours, and who understand you.

Facebook Private Group Parlons cancer du sein

This group is exclusively dedicated to people diagnosed with breast cancer (all stages) and living in Quebec. The group’s main language of communication is French.

Parlons cancer du sein is a bi-monthly peer-to-peer discussion group that gives you the opportunity to meet and share your experiences with others who are living with or have experienced breast cancer in the past 3 years. Accessible by videoconference and facilitated by a social worker, the discussion group takes place in a respectful, non-judgmental and confidential atmosphere. The healthcare professional’s role is to facilitate and stimulate reflection and discussion, while prioritizing exchanges between sufferers.

Support group Retour au travail

Returning to work after breast cancer: What if you weren’t alone?

Returning to work after breast cancer treatment is much more than a simple return to routine. It’s a transition filled with questions, emotions and sometimes apprehension. The “Retour au travail” group is here to help you through this essential stage.

It’s a friendly place to talk, prepare and move forward.

This online support group, facilitated by a social worker, is designed for women like you: those who are preparing to return to work or who have just done so. For 7 weeks, at a rate of 1 meeting per week, you’ll be part of a small group (6 to 8 participants) where you can:

  • Share your experiences and concerns
  • Regain confidence in your abilities
  • Identify your strengths and available resources
  • Give new meaning to your professional life

Because going back to work is also about rediscovering a part of yourself.

By taking part in this group, you’ll have a moment to yourself, in a respectful, confidential environment, in French. Several cohorts are offered each year – find the one that’s right for you.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Have been diagnosed with breast cancer within the last 2 years
  • Have completed active treatment
  • Plan to return to work or have recently returned to work

Register now: soutien@rubanrose.org

A social worker will contact you about a month before the group starts.

Take care of your transition. You don’t have to do it alone.
