Sophrology is a practice based on body-mind activation, relaxation, meditation and mindfulness techniques aimed at developing serenity and well-being. Recommended as supportive oncology care, especially in Europe, sophrology offers valuable physical and psychological support for cancer sufferers.

Who can benefit from sophrology? Sophrology can be helpful for a number of purposes, including:

  • Managing stress,
  • Managing emotions,
  • Managing pain,
  • Enhancing physical and mental well-being.

Sophrologist Halim Tazi will guide you throughout the session to:

  • Practise gentle physical exercises and breathing,
  • Recall positive memories to experience pleasant moments,
  • Learn to focus your attention on a specific object and slow down your thinking process.

Thanks to our financial contribution, these workshops are free.

Halim Tazi has been working with OQPAC[1] since 2007 to develop a sophrology program tailored to people with cancer (workshops and other individual and group services). He is a highly respected therapist, whose experience, teaching skills and kindness are much appreciated by his clients.

Now living in Quebec for 25 years, he is passionate about passing on this unique method of support, which is recommended in Europe as supportive oncological care[2] as a complement to medical treatment.

Feedback from those who have experienced it

An essential moment when I took the time to stop and concentrate on the positive, on beauty. It was an important break during my treatment and helped alleviate my side effects.

It helped me better channel calmness to relieve my stress, relearn how to breathe and find the positive energy in my body.

These sessions gave me an incredible sense of well-being and made me more aware of the power of breathing and the many exercises that Halim so kindly led us to discover.

Thank you for this wonderful opportunity!
